This is the official website of artist, Mary Wood. Her lifelong passion for horses and fine art, merge on canvas and illustration board.
Mary creates in her cabin studio looking out on the timber, mountains and abundant wildlife of northwestern Montana. To live, ride and paint the West, is what life is all about for Mary. Being without a reliable horse and a faithful dog makes no sense to her at all. They define her, inspire her and constantly amaze her. Every painting or drawing she creates, is a direct result of an experience she has participated in or watched first-hand.
The horsemen and horsewomen Mary knows and rides with, are some of the finest human beings on earth. Honest, dedicated, truly caring folks that love their families, their horses, their dogs, their ranching way of life and are not afraid to show it. These icons of the West are fodder for Mary’s paintings and drawings.
